ᾧ μάλιστα διηενκῶς ὁμιλοῦσι λόγῳ τῷ τὰ ὅλα διοικοῦντι, τούτῳ διαφέρονται, καὶ οἵς καθ' ἡμέραν ἐγκυροῦσι, ταῦτα αὐτοῖς ξένα φαίνεται

Commentary

Much of this fragment is not accepted as authentic. Burnet and Robinson both think some of this thought is Heraclitean, while others reject it entirely. (Most who reject it see it as simply a paraphrase of fragment 17.) Burnet and Robinson only quote a part of the fragment, "They are estranged from that with which they have most constant intercourse" (Burnet).
