οὐκ ἐμοῦ, ἀλλὰ τοῦ λόγου ἀκούσαντας ὁμολογεῖν σοφόν ἐστιν ἓν πάντα εἶναί
It is wise to hearken, not to me, but to the λόγος, and to confess that all things are one.

[ Hide commentary ]Kirk points out that this fragment would have no meaning if the λόγος were not used in a technical sense to mean the 'divine ordering principle: if Heraclitus' λόγος were just his account, then listening to the λόγος would just be listening to him.
