ἀνθρώποισι πᾶσι μέτεστι γινώσκειν ἑωυτοὺς καὶ σωφρονεῖν

Recognizing oneself and being of a sound mind are for all men.

Robinson correctly interprets μέτεστι to mean "to have a [rightful] claim to" something; this produces his accurate translation, "All men have a claim to self-ascertainment and sound thinking."
